This is an invasion set to music with bands combining Texas Country with Louisiana Zydeco and Brass Bands; from great local talent to national headline acts. Specialty entertainment such as the popular Splash Dogs, armadillo races, wildlife exhibits, and a world-class carnival will entertain all ages. Arts and Crafts vendors offer a stunning array of unique gifts, decoration, clothing, and art.

Food is a huge part of Cajun culture, and there will be plenty at the invasion: from succulent, boiled crawfish, crabs, and shrimp, to rich and spicy Cajun dishes such as étouffée, boudin, and jambalaya, to Texas BBQ. Inventive cooks will offer new takes across culinary traditions, and, of course, festival classics such as corn dogs and funnel cakes will be in plentiful supply.

Southeast Texas and Louisiana share a love of great music, food, and good times rooted in a sportsman’s paradise of fishing, hunting, and country living. In Louisiana, French and African influences gave the culture a unique flavor.  That culture represents the epitome of the American melting-pot: disparate people coming together and blending food, music, language and culture to create something unique and rich, always new yet always steeped in tradition.

Katy has gone from the prairie community of Cane Island to one of the most dynamic regions of the greater Houston/Gulf Coast area with residential and economic growth along the 99 Grand Parkway. Katy Mills, renowned state-wide and beyond as a regional shopping destination, is the perfect spot for the invasion. They say here, “You’ll love Katy,” and you’ll love it even more with a dash of Cajun spice!
